Strategic Product Lead for Saga Health and Wellbeing

…And right now, we are looking for a Strategic Product Lead for Saga Health & Wellbeing. In this role, you can help set the tone for Saga Health and Wellbeing propositions for our customers, with responsibility for product design and development working with areas such as, marketing, commercial, finance and operations to drive the P&L. A large proportion of this role will be focused on health and wellbeing with a small amount of time spent on supporting the Saga SOS alarms product and its day to day operation. 

This will be a truly autonomous role where you will help bring innovative products to market and share ownership for the success of the product line. 

You will have previously been an owner of a product/category line with strong product and P&L management within the healthcare industry. You will bring an ability to apply your health knowledge in a blended approach, understanding areas such as marketing, commercial, acquisition and the end to end journey for customer.

Role Responsibility

  • Maintain and develop competitive, market-leading health and wellbeing products, through product innovation, market knowledge and intelligent contracting with suppliers 
  • Have a thorough knowledge of products and ensure they adhere to Saga's brand values, creating exceptional experiences whilst adhering to industry regulations
  • Lead product performance metrics and distribution strategy 
  • Continuously check contacts with the customer, through online and offline channels 
  • Push product highlights into the public eye whenever possible 
  • Ensure that individual customer issues are efficiently and fairly dealt with, intervening personally where necessary 
  • Working closely and collaboratively with all key business stakeholders and functional owners 
  • To support conception, validation & delivery of strategy ensuring testing and development of new product initiatives related to health and wellbeing 

The Ideal Candidate

  • Thorough knowledge and experience of the UK health and wellbeing market and practices and the related regulatory environment 
  • Ability to interpret customer insight and translate into customer focussed propositions 
  • Able to define and deliver product strategy for a key category 
  • Initiative-taker 
  • Experience of relevant direct marketing 
  • Skilled product manager 
  • Good people skills and stakeholder management skills particularly across departments 
  • Comfortable working at a detailed level 
  • Thorough product and market knowledge, able to come across as credible/heavyweight representative of Saga 
  • Customer focussed, able to step in on individual customer queries 
  • Good at creating and motivating a close-built team 
  • Proven ability to work to strict deadlines
