…And right now, we are looking for a Trade Sales Executive to work in our Trade Sales department for our Saga Holidays part of the business at an exciting time in Saga’s history. As a Group, Saga is taking to the seas in our brand new, luxury cruise ships, leading the market with innovative insurance and financial products.  

You will be responsible for the sale of Saga Travel products through travel agents, as well as supporting individual agencies with queries/questions/challenges on a day-to-day basis. There will also be aspects of business development, both through trade and new commercial partnerships, as we look to expand our reach.  

You will bring excellent communication and organisational skills. As this is a customer facing role, you will be friendly, approachable, and confident with an outgoing nature.

Role Responsibility

  • First point of contact for trade queries, ensuring all issues and complaints are managed and resolved effectively. 

  • Develop and maintain great relationships with all relevant internal departments. 

  • Support the Head of Trade Sales and Account Managers with day-to-day administration of the management of our key travel agent relationships. 

  • Spend 2 days of each week on business development, ensuring new up and coming travel agents are identified, supported, and deliver sales growth. 

  • Deliver against annual business development revenue targets for a defined list of accounts (£1m+ revenue). 

  • Work closely with the Contact Centre to ensure bookings and agency set up in our reservation systems are maintained properly. 

  • Support in the procurement and distribution of travel agent materials in line with key trading focuses (i.e., weekly window cards, POS) From time to time, arrange and attend travel agent Familiarisation (FAM) trips, UK events and overseas conferences. 

The Ideal Candidate

  • Good phone manner. 

  • Strong interpersonal skills. 

  • Motivated and hardworking, with an ability to handle fast moving workloads. 

  • Keen to progress through the team. 

  • Understanding of UK travel agents. 

  • Travel background. 

  • Use of MS Office. 

  • Use of Taurus and/or Tigerbay. 

  • Experience in telesales/support. 

  • Ability to work both as part of a team and alone. 

  • Driving license is essential, as you will be visiting travel agents.
