Transformation Project Manager - 12 Month Fixed Term Contract

This role is an important part of the Transformation and Change team who strive to facilitate, to help and support the travel function of the business.

Saga Holidays is embarking on a sustained period of business transformation and change to set the platform to achieve ambitious growth targets over the next 12 months. The purpose of this exciting new role is to take ownership of the overall change planning and to manage key projects within the transformation plan.

This role will manage a broad range of projects encompassing process, system and people change and will support the Saga Holidays leadership team in delivering key platforms for growth across the product range.

You will need excellent communication and stakeholder management skills and be able to lead and/or contribute to all aspects of project and change management. The key strategic nature of many of the projects and changes will also provide the opportunity to work with a variety of different people and teams and will regularly involve interaction with senior management.

Role Responsibility

  • Project manage the implementation of projects identified within the Saga Holidays transformation plan.
  • Track the progress of projects through all stages of the project.
  • Maintain the overall tracking of the Saga Holidays transformation plan.
  • Support the implementation of strategic Saga Holidays business developments.
  • Co-ordinate and drive implementation and development of new and existing technologies.
  • Ensure project risks and actions are identified and monitored in the project risk and action logs in line with business risk management processes.
  • Ensure that projects comply with corporate governance.
  • Challenge projects and project team members to ensure customers interests and brand values are central.
  • To complete Post Implementation Reviews of projects as required and feed recommendations for process improvements back into the Saga Holidays leadership team.
  • Identify and manage the impact of business changes.
  • Take a pro-active role in identifying improvements and changes that would benefit the team and the business.
  • Provide support to the Saga Holidays leadership team and resolve day-to-day issues.

The Ideal Candidate

Capability, Knowledge and Experience:

  • Clear track record of successfully managing a variety of process, systems and change projects.
  • Experience of working within or with a PMO would be an advantage.
  • Understanding of Waterfall & Agile methodology.
  • Experience of managing high level stakeholder relationships.
  • Experience of operating within a corporate environment, particularly in the travel industry.

Education and Qualifications:

  • Degree or relevant alternative, would consider relevant project management/business knowledge for non-degree candidates.
