This role is an important part of the Operations team who strive to facilitate, to help and support the Transport function of the business.

The Transport Relationship Manager role is a key part of the Transport Head Office management team based in Redhill. You will be directly responsible for the operational delivery of the transport service.

One of the key responsibilities is to manage the relationship between the business and its partner, Tristar Cars Ltd to ensure the effective delivery of the business strategy. This will be achieved by managing the quality of service delivered, tracking issues through to root cause and resolution and ensuring effective delivery of the journey planning and control functions at Tristar.

You will need strong communication and organisation skills along with experience in managing partner relationships and driving the delivery of long-term results whilst balancing short-term priorities. This role is integral to supporting and delivering The Saga and Titan Way by putting the best interests of our people and customers at the heart of all you do and realising that nothing is too much trouble for both our internal and external customers.

Role Responsibility

  • Key relationship manager between the Saga/Titan Transport team and Tristar Cars Ltd, our key partner, to ensure a high level of customer service and delivery to the SLA
  • Accountable for the operational stability of the Planning and Control functions from a Saga/Titan perspective
  • Protection of the Saga / Titan brands by ensuring consistently high levels of customer service
  • Monitor and report regularly on Tristar’s performance against the SLAs and KPIs
  • Regularly audit the quality of service that Tristar Cars are delivering and produce analysis of complaints against suppliers to drive out potential risks to Saga / Titan and ensure continuous service improvements
  • Effectively track any issues through to root cause and resolution drawing together vehicle and driver fleet activities at Transport, Saga and Titan call centres and other operational and marketing teams and the Tristar team
  • Constantly review and deliver recommendations to the business and share results
  • Work closely with the Head of Transport to support with the overall running of the Transport division
  • Support the Transport Management team in embedding the Saga and Titan Way culture within Transport and ensure that this flows through to the Tristar Cars team working on behalf of our internal and external customers
  • Support with the delivery of Transport projects, policies and processes in accordance with business specifications
  • Ensure that any system and process changes are embedded effectively
  • Adopt a flexible, enthusiastic and driven approach to achieving the goals of the business

Capability, Knowledge and Experience:

  • Skilled influencer and negotiator

  • A constructive and enthusiastic approach to investigating and solving problems
  • Proven track record of service and quality improvement capability
  • Ability to communicate effectively with people at all levels to get results
  • Able to build excellent working relationships internally and externally
  • Able to identify resource requirements
  • A good understanding of market and business drivers and impacts on resource
  • Able to identify and clearly communicate cost benefits from operational reviews
  • Skilled in identifying opportunities to improve processes and customer experience (for both internal and external customers)
  • Ability to identify trends in supplier performance and analyse complex data
  • Proven ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines
  • Able to use judgement, discretion and tact in dealing with sensitive/confidential information
  • Able to create and deliver compelling and concise reports and presentations
  • Knowledge of the Travel / Transport industry is an advantage but not essential
  • Experience of improving quality performance as delivered by third parties

Education and Qualifications:

  • Comprehensive working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Grasp of financial accounting principles and strong maths skills
