And right now, we are looking for a Travel Trade Account Manager to join us on a fixed term contract basis. In this role, you will manage the day-to-day relationships with National and key Regional Trade Agents to deliver commercial growth in line with business objectives. This will be achieved by developing strong relationships with these agents, the identification of development and marketing opportunities.  You will collaborate closely with partners both inside and outside of the business to find and resolve operational issues and to consistently achieve key performance indicators. You will also need to be focused on increasing sales and should be driven by the achievement of results. 

This is a fantastic opportunity to work in a growing part of the travel business in a collaborative team with a great culture. You will get to form and develop strong partnerships with travel agents and work with new partnership organisations to form new customer channels. With full autonomy to manage key accounts and source and develop new business opportunities, this role will be varied, diverse and fast paced. 

You will bring current or recent experience working as an Account Manager within the travel industry.

Role Responsibility

  • Shared responsibility for revenue in excess of £40m across Saga Holidays and Cruise 
  • Manage day to day relationships with key National Accounts to maximise Saga sales, ensuring an effective and regular communication structure is in place, finding training requirements and resolving operational challenges 
  • Take full ownership of account portfolio, including the negotiation and distribution of commercial agreements (supported by the HOTS) 
  • Alongside Marketing teams, formulate marketing and development plans for each National Account and key regional agents in conjunction with Marketing teams, ensuring ROI on all activity is tracked 
  • Adhere to budget management processes and ensure spend is appropriately approved 

The Ideal Candidate

  • Account Management experience gained from the travel industry 
  • Knowledge of travel agents and key contact 
  • Budget control 
  • Understanding of marketing activities 
  • Demonstratable business development acumen 
  • Computer literate 
  • Comfortable in a fast-paced environment 
  • Ability to effectively prioritise
