User Acceptance Tester - Travel Division

This role is an important part of the Change Management team who strive to facilitate, to help and support the Travel function of the business.

In this role, you will conduct testing across the Travel business including, Taurus (software package), the Saga and Titan Web Sites and PC based applications, as well as all testing on updates regarding documentation produced both from the online and offline systems. Part of the testing function will include external systems and external suppliers systems so communication with all interested parties is a key factor of the role. Having a full auditable trail in place for all test items is also paramount.

Role Responsibility

  • To conduct user acceptance testing on behalf of the Saga/Titan Group on all current and prospective Saga/Titan Group user systems to the required standard
  • To write test plans and complete documentation that can be followed easily
  • To report and track defects in development packages
  • To use test tools as part of test processes and to be proactive in investigating ways to improve efficiency
  • To conduct sanity checks on live releases including customer documentation
  • To provide a point of expert reference on system functionality, correct procedure and document content for the business
  • To investigate users queries regarding potential system faults or changes
  • To report faults and change requests on behalf of the system users
  • Maintain and review test scripts
  • Provide a full auditable overview of testing processes
  • To make recommendations for improved usability during testing of development software
  • To document and report faults found during testing
  • To complete test items within the time frames provided
  • To sign off tests when testing is complete
  • To liaise with all interested parties on a change to assess and agree specific testing requirements
  • To communicate changes and developments to the business so that written briefs and/or training sessions can take place
  • To ensure knowledge of business processes is kept current
  • To be prepared to take on additional tasks as and when requested
  • To be prepared to complete additional hours to maintain target release dates
  • The successful individual will be required to complete a set amount of late night releases, failovers, power downs and disaster recoveries
  • Where required will be called on to provide last minute support for releases

The Ideal Candidate

Capability, Knowledge and Experience:

  • Business experience in the Travel arena would be an advantage.
  • Excellent product and user system knowledge (PC/Mainframe/Internet)
  • Ability to follow and write detailed technical instruction documents
  • Ability to work to demanding schedules and deadlines
  • Ability to learn new products, systems and processes
  • Dedicated to ensuring knowledge is kept current for both business and UAT processes

Education and Qualifications:

  • Good standard of Education
  • Testing qualification desirable or a willingness to obtain relevant qualification
