Saga Group Digital have some ambitious plans for 2020 and beyond, a key one of which is continuing the growth of the online presence for Saga Possibilities and other group sites. As a result of this we have an exciting opportunity for a Website Editor to manage and update the Saga Possibilities website content. You will be responsible for ensuring that all updates are implemented, meet required timescales, are fully signed off and adhere to our brand, style and usability guidelines as well as SEO best practice. 

As the key channel for our Members to engage with us, managing the website is a vital role to drive our member and website engagement objectives. You’ll work closely with your Group Digital colleagues in UX/UI, analytics, product management & optimisation, together with the wider marketing, commercial and IT stakeholders to manage the updates to the site and help evolve the customer experience on site.

    Role Responsibility

    • Ensure the timely implementation of changes to the website via the CMS 
    • Prioritise and co-ordinate the various updates and edits to website from stakeholders across the business 
    • To communicate and co-operatively identify the status of projects and project activities with the key stakeholders
    • To appropriately test pages to ensure system compliance to technical design and business requirements
    • To follow all Saga procedures relating to the website, including, but not limited to, the release procedures and management instructions
    • To seek opportunities to contribute original ideas to the benefit of the organisation
    • Become over time an expert user of our CMS Sitecore 
    • Support other internal departments and provide advice and recommendation to those departments on website related matters including Sitecore 

    The Ideal Candidate

    Capability, knowledge and experience:

    • Basic CMS experience such a Word Press 
    • A basic understanding of HTML 
    • An understanding of website analytics would be desirable  
    • An understanding of SEO and usability principles 
    • Ability to use Photoshop to a basic level would be desirable 
    • CSS experience would be desirable

    Education and qualifications:

    • Good Secondary education

    • Professional, confident, enthusiastic and committed 
    • Ability to thrive in a fast paces environment where you may need to change thinking / direction at any given moment
