As a Supply Chain Lead, you will be responsible for managing our Insurance supply chain, specifically in claims, underwriting and/or distribution of third-party relationships.

In this varied role, your day-to-day will range from onboarding of new suppliers, performance management to contracted service levels and conducting due diligence requirements. You will provide 1LOD against performance, contractual and or regulatory risks and ensure any incidents are raised in accordance with best Practice.

You will assist management in the oversight of the outsourced supply chain for motor and home claims department, including but not limited to our vehicle repair network, salvage suppliers, hire providers, legal services, home loss assessors and adjusters.

You will have excellent personal and leadership skills, with the ability to collaborate and communicate effectively with internal business stakeholders and our external supply chain.

We offer total flexibility over where you work – you choose a place where you feel most comfortable and productive, either from home or in one of our hubs in London, Ashford or Sandwich. We come together with a purpose to collaborate, typically once a month in London or Kent.

Role Responsibility

As one of our Supplier Relationship Leads, you will be responsible for managing third-party supplier and distribution relationships within our underwriting and claims teams in order to ensure adherence to contractual and/or regulatory requirements.

Other accountabilities include:

  • Providing a 1LOD against performance, contractual and or regulatory risks and ensuring any incidents are raised in accordance with best Practice
  • Ensuring contracts are up to date, in line with corporate governance and contain the appropriate risk transfer where suppliers are managing risks
  • Keeping in touch with new innovations within the supplier market to ensure we are able to take advantage of new opportunities as they arise
  • Commercial negotiation, drafting and concluding contracts and service level agreements in accordance with governance policies
  • Maintaining accurate and up to date records of all third party suppliers, to include performance, contract, audit and due diligence updates.
  • Undertaking site visits to outsourced suppliers for initial and on-going due diligence assessments.
  • Supporting internal business units in their review of operational, information security and financial due diligence processes.
  • Ensure measures are in place, monitored and reviewed in order to aid control of claims costs.
  • Continual monitoring of MI across claims outsourced suppliers, identifying and managing performance issues and managing implementation of recommended actions.
  • To undertake operational visits and/or meetings when required and recommend and implement improvements to outsourced supplier processes as necessary.
  • To chair and or support in third party supplier relationship meetings and/or internal meetings.
  • Act as escalation / referral point for operation teams in relation to supplier issues, complaints and/or compensation recovery (home and motor).
  • Work with third party suppliers to ensure all audit recommendations and actions are implemented in a timely and effective manner ensuring delivery to the required standard, escalating areas of potential risk acceptance.

The Ideal Candidate

To be a successful Supplier Relationship Lead it is essential you have experience within a claims function and have strong stakeholder management skills with proven background in influencing and engagement of senior leaders. Experience of supply chain management would be preferable, but not essential.

Other skills and experience required include:

  • Highly organised and methodical, with the ability to juggle a multitude of tasks and deadlines
  • Must be able to work to a high degree of accuracy
  • Flexible approach, personable and able to embrace change
  • High work ethic and drive, with ability to self-manage
  • Demonstrable competence in writing clear and concise executive summaries and producing performance packs for senior management
  • Confidence to challenge key stakeholders, taking a logical, pragmatic and proactive approach to problem solving
  • Able to maintain discretion, confidentiality and professionalism
  • Positive outlook, with a solution-centric approach
  • The ability to foster a positive culture that prioritises good customer outcomes and shows high levels of engagement with the wider business.
  • Ability to see the broader picture and recognise the effects of actions/problems on all areas of the business
