Transport Operations Co-Ordinator

Job Introduction

Transport Operations Co-Ordinator

Salary £25,000 - £27,000 + Occasional Overtime Opportunities

6-month FTC

Shift Pattern - 5 days over 7 with occasional weekend working*

Full-time office-based

We are looking for a motivated and customer-focused Transport Operations Co-ordinator to join our Transport operations team. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is passionate about travel and looking to gain a broad range of experience within transport operations, and an exposure to the wider workings of the travel and logistics industry.

In this pivotal role, you’ll be at the heart of our daily transport planning—supporting logistics coordination, problem-solving in real time, and playing a key role in delivering world-class service to our customers. You’ll also engage directly with internal teams and external customers via phone and digital channels, so strong communication and customer service skills are essential.

Whether you're developing cost-effective transport solutions or helping resolve on-the-ground challenges, you’ll help ensure smooth, efficient operations whilst learning and growing in a vital part of our business.

* Due to the nature of the role and because the operational team operates 24/7 from our offices, flexible shift patterns will be a requirement. Candidates will need to be in a commutable distance to Crawley, there could be the odd occasion when you can work from home, but the majority of shifts will be from our office base.

Role Responsibility

  • Plan and deliver cost-effective, efficient transport journeys that align with our business rules and customer service standards.
  • Use our in-house scheduling system to manage routes, pickups, and operational adjustments.
  • Communicate clearly with customers, drivers, and third-party partners to coordinate logistics and resolve any issues.
  • Monitor flight and road conditions to support real-time driver coordination and adapt to changes as needed.
  • Collaborate daily with internal teams (Planning, Transport Management, Workshop, and Airport Services) to ensure smooth operations.
  • Manage updates to booking and transport systems, maintain accurate records, and perform compliance checks.
  • Adjust transport plans to accommodate last-minute changes, including weather, traffic, and vehicle availability.
  • Ensure a seamless handover between shifts and support service continuity across all operational bases.
  • Conduct occasional site visits to the airport and cruise terminals to maintain service quality.

The Ideal Candidate

  • Operational experience with a background in transport or logistics coordination is preferred.
  • Strong computer literacy, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and planning/telematics systems.
  • Excellent attention to detail and a logical, analytical mindset for planning efficient routes.
  • Proven ability to prioritise, work under pressure and meet tight deadlines, even during unsocial hours.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, with a confident and professional telephone manner.
  • Self-motivated and capable of working independently with minimal supervision.
  • Flexible, adaptable and a constructive problem-solver with a positive attitude.
  • Strong people engagement and time management skills.
  • Knowledge of the UK motorway system and postcode geography is desired but not essential.
